Got me a job (dont think I want it!)
Back from my trip to Sydney (and warming up again now in Brissie!).
Had a second job interview this morning, but after talking in some length to one of the partners I'm not sure the job is for me. It pays quite well (about $40k) but I can't see me liking it there for long. I'm going back tomorrow to meet some more people and spend a couple of hours looking around, so I guess I'll have a better idea then.
I'm in quite a lucky position in that if I don't take this job I'm still going to have some money, boredom at the moment is my main driver. Really I'm looking for a career rather than a job, and I can't see myself being able to get that from this particular position.
So, if anyone fancy's a job in investment/stockmarket then I think I have an idea where one will be shortly

Quite right Polly!!!
Take the job and keep looking around. You don't know how easy it will be to come across another one. And like Polly says, it is easier to find employment once you've already got it!!

Congrats on the job, even tho you're not sure whether you want it!!!
You might feel differently when you go there for a few hours tomorrow and find you'll like it, but if not you haven't lost anything.
Let us know how you get on.

Sorry to sya this as I don't think you really want to hear it but I am in agreement with everyone else. Worth it for a bit of extra money for a couple of months and you may well meet someone through work who can point you in the direction of something you really want to do.
Glad you seem to be settling in.
Take care Kala

Re: Got me a job (dont think I want it!)
I agree with you all entirely, it would be EXACTLY the advice I would give to someone. However, having spent the morning there, I really dont think it would be for me.
Its a tiny office (7 people) so meeting friends and future contacts is highly unlikely. Topped with the fact that the job seems pretty dull (the partner who interviewed me has already said he thinks I'm over qualified) I think accepting this job would just feel me with dread and worry.
I know lots of people are busy looking for jobs, and I should be really pleased and happy. I'm not really that fussy in my job requirements and have surprised myself with not wanting this one. I have until tomorrow till decide, so lots of thinking to be donel........
