Google Earth? Pah... QLD maps is what ya want!

Google Earth? Pah... QLD maps is what ya want!
If you are in Qld, or planning to be, have a look at this:

Cool or what? Select map types from the left, photo satellite imagery is a good one, or live weather overlay is interesting. Its really cool to zoom in on an area and the click the 'identify' icon in the top left and click on a satellite image of a house and it gives the address.
Theres all the other weird stats type maps as well unemployment etc.
And the satellite imagery of our house is a hell of alot clearer than the google earth one. Good to see our tax money is being well spent

Google earth is brilliant, you can see a lot of places in great detail in Australia, I've been looking at Fremantle - you can evan see the boats just off the coast. I love it in a geeky sort of way.

You need to zoom in a few times until the Brisbane area pretty much fills your map area, then the option for satellite imagery is there. (For other areas in QLD zoom into about 1:600000 scale, then the satellite images become available). After that you can zoom in quite a bit till you get to house level, and then you can do funny things like click identity and then a house, and find out its address and stuff.
