How many of you phone to make the transaction and how many do it online.

And if you make the transaction online is it easy transfering from current bank to mid man and then to the Aus bank. And how easy is it fixing the currency rate online.

Which is best phone or online particularly if you are already in OZ. Getting your money from the UK to Oz if living in Oz.

Do you have internet banking?
Online transfer by you from the UK bank to the transfer company, then they move it to your Oz bank.

I use http://www.hifx.co.uk/ all the time moving money from oz to uk and spain no problem's at all money from one bank account to the other same day, Get in touch with them on line and they will ring you then you can ask them what you want to know.

Word of warning....... using telephone or internet banking to transfers large sums can be very difficult.
I am not alone in having problems - I had the devil's own job getting Barclays in UK to transfer money to an HiFX Barclays in the UK. They said I had to go into the branch!! Eventually after much complaining finally got it down but it took a couple of weeks. Luckily HiFX were pretty understanding. Determine with your UK bank how you can move large sums while you are here in Aus.

Also you MUST use Aus based companies for the move - HiFX and I would guess most others have Aus offices.
