Yep, I did try to tell that to the person, but they could not find any 'proper' jobs, and needed money (even at 8 bucks an hour). A couple more have had to resort to cash in hand jobs too as they can't find any legit jobs. I think the main problem being their English is not too good.

What worries me is that many of these type of jobs are in areas such as manual labour. Who pays out for a lifetimes knackered back or a crushed hand when you have been working on the side for $8 an hour? Is it really worth it?

LOL, I can't see any of the people on my course doing labour jobs. They were all horrified when they realised we would have to do physical work on our course.
All food based (and VERY late nights). They tell me it is totally normal in this type of job, and they actually advertise in Chinese papers over here for cash in hand work, which does make you wander why nobody has stopped it going on.
