I'm glad someone is

To get back on topic, if you join Qantas frequent flyer you can sign up for their QantasCash debit card - a Mastercard that you load with funds via BPay, then use for all your shopping and earn 1 FF point for every $2 you spend. No fees, and if travelling overseas you can load it with GBP, Euros, US$ etc at a locked in exchange rate before you go.
The only use for these cards is locking in an exchange rate. For any other use Citibank Plus is a much better (cheaper and more convenient) alternative.

Yeah they sent me all the stuff for the card but I couldn't see any real value in getting it.

Since Qantas Cash doesn't cost anything I fail to see how any alternative can be cheaper. As far as I am aware, every other card offering QFF points has an annual fee, which is why I haven't bothered in the past.

Because as a travel money card it still charges overseas ATM withdrawal fees and currency conversion fees / offers poorer exchange rates when loading than Citi or using a 28 degrees card for purchases / cash advance and withdrawal.

If you're simply planning to load it with AUD and use it as a debit card, then it's free. For travel there are less complicated and better value solutions.

Point taken bc. I just use mine in Aus to build up FF points in order to get upgrades on flights to Perth.

On another topic, I wish companies like Qantas would put filters on their mailing lists. I got an email at the weekend offering me Qantas Club membership at a discounted rate - don't they know I've been a Life Member since 2006?.
