Does anyone have the format of how an employer reference should look, how much detail to include etc.

If it is for your assessment here is the guidelines we rec'd from our Agent, hubby Self Employed.
1. Reference to be on Company Letterhead and signed by someone in Authority and dated.
2. Brief description of the companies activities and workforce
3. Confirm the exact dates of employment (day, month and year)
4. Confirm the capacity in which you were/are employed
5. Contain a detailed description of the full range of your technical skills and employment tasks.
6. Ensure The signatory clearly prints his/her name and position within the organisation.
Hope this helps

and if you work for a government agency, please remember to include a copy of your most recent payslip!
i'm sure you know that business/letter headed paper should be used!
make sure your name is spelt correctly on all documents, believe me i have been there!
it's not about, according to advice that we received, character reference, it is determining exactly what your position at work entails, outlining positions held and the particulars carried out!
just remember to chill out and breath! any mistakes made CAN be eradicated!!!!
best of luck with everything!
