The people that live on Intrepid Court have the craziest Crimbo Lights!
We have family friends on Intrepid Crt and others streets in Newport. It's a lovely area, fantastic sunsets, one the best seafood restaurants ever down the road (Morgans - also mates, but I'm not biased!). Another mate lives on his boat at the marina. Getting quite expensive down there. Are you looking at a house backing onto the water?

The only negative was the sand flies early evening. One night my wife got 48 bites which knocked her about a bit.
Also bear in mind that canal houses are pretty damn expensive - you wouldn't get a decent canal house for less than $700k. We lived in a nice rental for 6 months and paid $450 a week and the house next door was for sale around the $800k mark.

Think you will find of the two Scarborough is slightly cheaper than Bayside next to the water. Both areas good and not full of ferrals as they are priced out of the market in those areas.
