Every Bus Sheleter in Ocean Reef Smashed Up
Driving my kids this morning I noticed the vandals had a good night last night. Every bus shelter I saw in Ocean Reef had been smashed up. The ones without glass had all the seats upended.

Yep, same here. There has been no glass in the shelters near me for over a year. It's smashed as soon as it's put in.

Rightly or wrongly, I am a great believer in the "Arab" form of justice for these toe-rags (and that includes the petty thieves as well as the vandals).
Depending on the severity of the crime a set number of fingers are "removed".
Not likely to re-offend then.

On Wednesday morning 2 fellow residents in the short term apartment complex we are staying in had their cars broken in. Our car was in the middle and for some reason they left it alone.
Perhaps it was because these 2 both had left laptops, DVD & video recorders etc in the back seats?
But the point I would like to make is the generosity that came out from other "Australian Residents" - offers of lifts to attend meetings and use of phones to call relevant authorities. One guy even offered the use of his laptop to help a poor girl forward emails to her boss for an important presentation.

That bloody fence got knocked down so many times by idiots loosing control of their cars because they were hooning around the corner that it got to be a joke between the neighbours on the other side & ourselves. We would bet on how many days after the council had been to fix it until someone knocked it down again.
Eventually council gave up & left the damn thing down - it must have been costing them a fortune to replace it every couple of weeks .

There were also one or two of them along the Great Eastern Highway, as you climb the hill out of Midland towards Greenmount.
Exactly why the government doesn't still make them out of concrete, I simply do not know. These flimsy little glass-and-steel thingies are a complete waste of time and (taxpayer's) money.
