Visa application waits likely to worsen

So they are continually putting up the price of visas, and at the same time cutting the number of people processing them. Automation is supposed to come before you sack people Trunbull ...

"Regrettably, at a human level, you don't want anyone to wait for a government decision any longer than is absolutely necessary," he said.

"If some folks have to wait a little bit longer, then well so be it."

Mr Pezzullo said even if more funds were available, he was unsure the money would be pumped into visa processing, as protecting the border was paramount.

Isn't that funny. Automation doesn't kill jobs.

Instead its the lack of desire to increase immigration right now and the desire to put your resources elsewhere.

Sounds like they are just getting rid of the wasters. Perfect time for a clean out.
