The nicotine in e-cigarettes is addictive, and some cigarettes are candy flavoured, and attractive to teens, who have never previously smoked. They could be a gateway to using real tobacco products, and a step back from the push to quit, as they seem "cool" to youngsters.

Teenagers are going to smoke, take drugs, and watch porn. Back in my day it was a couple of sneaky magazines under the mattress. Today its the internet. Should we ban the internet?

I used to read books under the blankets, with a torch, while eating those wonderful sweet cigarettes - remember them? came in a packet like real ciggies, and they were white with a red tip! Never made me an addict though, i smoked a bit back in the late 80s but only occasionally when out drinking and a pack of 10 lasted a week

I do remember those. How politically incorrect.

Do teens actually smoke these days? I never see it.

I had those when I was a child too, though neither of my parents smoked. It never made me want to take up the real thing and I have never smoked any sort of tobacco, nor indeed anything else, not even once to try it.

I don't think that the candy cigarettes were addictive! I had one once and it was ghastly- much too sweet. It is the marketing ploys by the manufacturers trying to get new people to start using nicotine, rather than the e-fags being seen as only suitable for those who have tried to give up but can't. If you really want to stop it is recommended that you use the nicotine patches. The e-cigs are sort of like a heroin addict using methodone -they are just a substitute for the really nasty stuff. They are still nasty and addictive, and the long term effects are as yet unproven.

All of this, ..... and I can't see how inhaling one of Mother Nature's insecticides is a good idea no matter what method of inhalation you use.
