Drs Medical Notes, do I need to get copy?

Hi

Enquired at my doctors to see what they do with my notes as I'm emigrating. They said they'd put my notes into storage but can provide me with a overview printout of my notes for £12 each. We've got 4 in our family so just wondering if doctors in Oz are interested in UK medical notes and whether its worth me getting a copy.

Many thanks

Short answer...No you don't. Unless you have a chronic condition which requires follow up doctors here aren't all that interested in your notes.

Long answer is the above but with lots of 'and' 'but' included :D If you have small children you will need their immunisation records, other than that don't bother.

Excellent, many thanks to you both for replying. I'm going to be bringing my kids red books which have their immunisation records inside. I've also got a condition which I've got the consultant to write a letter about which I think will cover it.

Thats saved me a few pounds then, much obliged, I'll put that towards the shipping

Hi there
From suggestions in this forum, I went to my medical center asking for childrens immunisation records. I got them for free.
