Dream on Dreamer (I want it all)
Don't know where to start so here goes.
Given it's taken so much hard work to get PR, Nicole (my partner - Diddy) and I pretty much want it all when we get to Oz.
I currently take about 1 and a half hours to get to work, so I want to cut down to about 20 mins. Nicole will do a Masters - which probably means either Cairns, Brisbane or Melbourne, and being a Pom we wanna live near the coast. This is especially so I wanna start diving - that probably counts out Alice.
So despite settling on Brisbane, we're now thinking of looking at other cities especially Melbourne/ Cairns.
Sydney still seems too expensive.
Melbourne looks good as coastal areas aren't to expensive, nearish Uni and diving is good - downside is climate - feel free to contradict me.
Cairns option is good but I'm worried about getting a job in Finance.
Brisbane is good for climate but Uni is a pain to get to from coast.
Gold Coast don't do the courses Nicole wants.
So any thoughts on any points raised please - where should we go to get it all?

PS. I've thought through the Oz has high crime, busy traffic bit already so I don't wanna turn this into one of those threads.

If it were myself: Brisbane. The diving would sway it for me - GBR still very accessible.

Go for Brisvegas. Melbourne is too cold, and if you wanna live somewhere European, live in Europe.
Cairns will be too hot and no jobs.
Brisbane, near perfect sub-tropical climate. Brisbane coast is non existent but there are loads of real beaches within 1-1.5 hours. Pick your suburb depending on whether you want fast access to the Sunshine or Gold coasts.
