Weight not a problem at the medicals!
Hello!
Me and hubby were panicking ever so slightly about going to medicals. I am 5' 2 and 12 stone and hubby is 6' and 17 stone. At medicals on Monday I was not considered over weight (???????) but hubby was. The doc just asked him questions about could he exercise - did his weight hold him back. He could answer totally honestly that no it doesn't and the doc put us both down as A's!!!!!
I know a lot depends on the doctor you go to but if you live near Bristol I would highly recommend the panel doctor on Coronation Road. He was so friendly and helpful and brilliant with our 8 month old son. He obviously wanted to do his best to help.
Waiting for the visa now..............

Glad your meds went well. I'm 5'3" and was 10 st 12lbs, I was so upset that I wasn't the weight I thought I was so doctor took 2lbs off for clothes and another 2 because I was so fed up. He eventually put my weight on form as 10st 8lb asked me loads of questions about my lifestyle and what I planned to do about losing excess weight (cheeky sod). He also gave me the first A of my life, lol. I think I got away quite lightly as some doctors are really strict.
Andrew on the other hand (diabetic) didn't get off so lightly. Doctor insisted that he saw signs of retinopathy (spots) in both of his eyes and contacted DIMIA which resulted in us seeing an eye specialist (more money) who confirmed that there was nothing there. Ah well, done and dusted now we hope. Once your bloods are back you can send your meds. A word of advice, some of the doctors we contacted insisted on sending meds by Royal Mail, don't go along with this as they are only tracked until they get to airport. After that who knows what happens, pay extra for DHL or similar service. Good luck with the rest of your application.

Re: Weight not a problem at the medicals!
Its good to know - thanx for that snippet of info! I must admit it is something both me & hubby (Sir Les Patterson) were wondering...... Okay, I am 4 1/2 mths pregnant but even when not we are both on the *chunky* side of things! I had my BMI done at the hospital when I had my scan & it is 32...... I was REALLY concerned! My mind is much more at ease!!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
