Day before bag drop at Melbourne airport?

Day before bag drop at Melbourne airport?
Does anyone know if you can check bags at Melbourne airport the day before a flight? I know one of the UK airports used to let you did this, but I'm coming up empty when looking it up on google for Melbourne.

I do know when we've arrived early we were told to wait until check in opens to offload suitcases so whether they can do it the day before I'm not sure. They may be able to do something special if you ask mate?

I should think it varies by airline as well. Some will only let you check in 3 hours before your flight.

we did this in the UK, it depends on the air line you are flying with if the option is there

Security risk? I can imagine a lot of airlines saying no but as said, just phone your airline.

You can leave your bag(s) at SmarteCarte in T2 Arrivals area. The airlines won't check it in early - usually they only accept checked-in luggage 3-4 hours before the flight.
