Default Costs for changing departure date to Europe with SIA or EK

I have to fly to EU in the near future but departure date possibly has to be changed.

Singapore Airlines states in the fare rules USD20 for itinerary change. Does that mean per section?

Emirates rules are confusing.

Does anybody have experiences with either airline?

Depends on the rules for the fare type purchased. Generally the cheaper the fare bucket the more restrictive and penalties apply for changes. There is no blanket policy for either airline.

I would consider it very reasonable if it were only 20 per leg to change. Many tickets would be a lot more or not changeable at all, esp for outgoing journey. You need to check the rules when you buy.

You'll need to check with the individual airlines regarding the rules for your specific ticket.
