When I used to live in a council house and was totally skint when my girls were babies I thought nothing of Putting some paper down on the carpet and letting them paint till their hearts content and I have even been known to put their paddling pool up in the front room in the winter. Those times were much happier.

I am now looking forward to selling all my nice stuff, going to Australia and having fun mooching round ikea to furnish my house. The simple life......can't wait.
Good luck with it all, I'm sure you'll find that life will be great. As long as you're realistic

Right there with you hon, Good food, good health and good fun its what we are hoping to find Mel

Sorry if it's not.
There was no need to start a whole other thread about this http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...t=313009&pp=15

I don't think the op was boasting. She obviously has a decent lifestyle and is rightly concerned about what will happen in Oz. She was merely asking for information. As I say to the kids "If you can't contribute something useful - keep quiet"

Eating outs cheap, but that's compared to here. Don't know what it's like when earning $s
