Actually you weren't blasted at all - people took the time to rationalise your complaints and put them in perspective which is often missed on this site. I like your posts. Don't get too paranoid!

I have time for any poster who can whinge and promote etc in a structured, positive way. It's the ones that seek to sensationalise - and ''tell tales" thats the only way I can describe it - that annoy me.

LOL, Good question, how to answer without sounding negative though? On the farm they love it probably slightly more than the UK, they seem to like the sun and can go out more often. What they don't like they have told me is the paralysis ticks and cattle ticks or the blood sucking leeches and fleas. My eldest particularly doesn’t like fire ants(got bitten and thought he was going to die by the noise he made). But they have modified their behavior and don’t lie in the grass as much and prefer to be on concrete. On a serious not though, If your bringing out your dogs you need to keep them in fresh tick collars and heartworm medicine.

I assume you aren't a normal tax paying employee ? You must have some unusual circumstances.

The vast majority of PAYE type people would normally overpay tax during the year of $500-$1000 which they then get back after tax return time.

To reduce your tax from $11,000 to $1,500 you have actually reduced your taxable income from almost $50,000 down to about $15,000. That's a lot of eligible deductions, well done
Yes, but like I said I used a specialist accountant because I wasn't prepared to take a few years to lean all the deductables. And I decided I'd rather spend the money on the farm than give it to the tax man.
