congratulaions on getting your visa.
If you have time- Could you tell us how easy it was , and how you had to produce the bond or where you send the investment. If we don't get the RSMS then we'll be looking at the retirement visa in a couple of yrs.

It was straightforward really. Police clearance 3 weeks £10 each, Medicals waiting 4 weeks and about £250 each including blood tests and chest xrays, then financial proof - certified copies of all documents proving finances - we didn't need to include house value. Submitted all that and heard about 3 weeks later that all was in order - then just had to enrol in private health care for 12 months in advance and get cert to prove it, send all to High Comission in London and visas back in a week.
But that was for a 410 retirement visa - and in Nov this year it is likely to be scrapped and replaced by a regional investor visa - limiting you to certain "rural areas and requiring a deposit of $500k with the State government for the duration of your stay

I have applied for the 410 visa.
How long does it take to get the OK?
I don't want to sell up until then but the housing market here in the UK
is almost at a standstill so I feel pressured into putting the house on the market now. Any suggestions?
Also what about investments like ISA's etc. Can they be retained intact as there are certain tax gains I would not wish to lose. If these make up part of
of liquid asset requirement to be made available in Oz do they have to be sold?
