Carpenter & Joiner qualifications
Hi, Im looking into working in australia on a working holiday visa, im 27yrs old and worried that i will need an NVQ level 3 certificate in carpentry and joinery, and need to get an australian white card to be able to get a job. I completed an apprenticeship and obtained an NVQ level 2 and have more than enough experience, does this mean i wont be able to get a job as a Joiner/ Carpenter? Cheers

anyone can get a white card it takes 3 hours its a safety card
carpentry level 3 is what you would need to be a licensed carpenter
you don't level 3 to get a job working for someone who has a license
without a license expect about 25 to 35 an hour more on formwork maybe
licensed on union jobs about 45 to 52 with added extras
so in short you will be able to get a job
uk qualifications don't really mean much here but they can be exchanged into oz qualifications with a bit of time and money
I see many holiday workers doing formwork never done it here myself the sun is too harsh im a 2nd fixer or fixout as they call it here.
