I hate to get involved in a PB issue but this kind of thing has been
happening in York (England) quite often lately. York! for pity's sake.

I've lived in York all my life and it's getting like all the other bad UK
places. I remember people been up in arms when Damon (from 80's Brookside
spinoff, Damon and Debbie) got stabbed in York at the end of the series.
Things like that didn't happen here but now they happen more regularly than
any of us like. Rapes, murders, armed robbery of Post Offices and a
particularly disturbing gang homosexual rape in daylight hours are in the
papers often.

I think Aus will be fine. These things can happen anywhere there are people
and at least the sun shines over there.

I am sure you are right , maybe its all them POMS coming over here that cause the problems.
Lets be fair how would an Australian know how to make a petrol bomb, counting over ten is too hard they run out of fingers.
You are right again getting stabbed or shot even raped
in the sunshine has a lot more appeal about it , problem is it can piss it down here for 5 months a year , but we a bit short on snow.Them Yorkshire people are very iffy who started the war of the roses?

Pair rape tourist in park

A GERMAN tourist was beaten unconscious before being raped by two men who abducted her in a Perth street on Sunday night.

The 26-year-old woman was walking alone on Beaufort Street near Brisbane Street about 7.30pm when a man jumped out of a car and grabbed her by the throat.

She fought back, but was forced into the car and held down on the back seat while another man drove to Kings Park, stopping on Lovekin Drive.

The woman, who had been in Perth for only a week, was then punched repeatedly until she passed out.

Det-Const. Simone van der Sluys said that when the woman came round she was driven back to the city and let out on St Georges Terrace.

She was able to walk to her hostel, where a friend called police.

The ordeal, which lasted about 30 minutes, left the woman bruised, cut and bleeding. It is understood DNA material which could help identify her attackers was found when she was taken to hospital for treatment.

Const. Van der Sluys said the woman spoke only limited English, but had been able to provide a good description of the man driving the vehicle.

He was about 30, of North African or Middle Eastern appearance, with dark hair and a slim build. He and the other man, who was in his 20s, spoke broken English with strong accents.

The car was described as a small, white late-model sedan with a rear spoiler. It may have been a Hyundai Excel.

Const. Van der Sluys said the attack appeared to have been an opportunistic crime with the victim chosen at random.

It was not linked to another attempted abduction involving an Irish backpacker in April. That incident was widely reported in Ireland and raised questions about the safety of Australia as a destination for young women.

Very true Sir I take it you would pay good money to move to Bradford then?that would save on coming half way around the world for the same fun and games , but it is warmer in Perth not enough cold days to keep these nice lads in doors.
