My mum stayed at the Hotel Formule 1 a few weeks ago and said it was quite good for a stopover. About 5 minutes from the airport

Depending on your budget , can recommend Novotel at the airport, stayed on several occasions http://www.booking.com/hotel/au/novo...268219;srpos=2

There are only two hotels close to the airport: the Novotel is actually (just) on airport land and the Formule 1 just the other side of the Airport Drive entrance. Novotel is a full service hotel with prices to match, Formule 1 provides bedrooms and nothing else.

There are plenty of other hotels/motels which have "Airport" in their name, on Sandgate Rd and Toombul Rd in particular.
