No, I don't think its racist in the sense of skin colour, but, these new people speak the same language as the criminal elements already here, you can guess how it will play out

I'm saying thats what the worry of the local residents is. Yes of course they will settle where others of there own culture are. Its called a support network.

There are good and bad in every culture and every race. But the residents worry seems to be "we've already had loads of problems from these immigrants, we don't want any more"

The British (tabloid) press love printing stories about immigrants who commit crimes eg East African connection with shooting of policewoman in Leeds, Trinidadian who killed the policeman in Nottingham etc. If the 'Ipswich Ripper' turns out to be an illegal immigrant, well..........

These people have come from a failed state ( if not they would'nt be here).

Law and order have broken down. And in most societies without the guiding hand of consequence people will do what they will.

I once read that 'people like, people like, themselves'. It's basic human nature and we all know the natural other side of that coin. Why, even if people have the same skin colour we distinguish on the basis of all sorts of things - our likes and dislikes, opinions, which team we support, what we wear, what we watch, how we look, how tall and heavy or thin we are, what food and drink we like ............................................. If your skin is a different colour and you speak a different language (let alone what accent with, that's another way we make distinctions) it immediately means you are different, to many/most people that's enough. A lot of people feel uneasy with individual differences. That's what bullying is about too (even between people of the same skin colour and language).

In conclusion, I'm not sure what my point is. I guarantee a lot of you judge me immediately by my username and by my signature (which is just a bit of banter for the Ashes - I'll probably remove it after Perth so as not to flog a dead horse).

Australias alreadys accepted thousands of sudanese refugees, I have read they are one of the biggest sources of refugees. Like someone else pointed out australia accepts migrants from a lot more countries than the UK. Immigrants from asian countries outstrip the number of poms that come here.

It might be a bit late to move here and not see sudanese refugees they have been accepted and housed in South Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne ....... and now the programme is trying to integrate them into country towns too.

Theres already been a thread on where can I move to in perth where they dont live You see plenty of them in south brisbane, usually large familles in malls quietly going about their business, seen school kids walking about after school, etc, sometimes in groups with other races. Not sure how they mix in really, they are often housed in the same suburbs so you do see some together, moving some to country towns is probably to help integration. I am not going to slag them off for being seen together, go to any school, shops, surf club here and you always see poms, always hanging out strictly with their own, maybe the government should move some of us to Tamworth too

Hospital services, school services, are stretched in many areas, like gold coast and sunshine coast for a start, its never stopped immigrants being accepted there. Thats just a PC excuse.
