Hey you never know do ya ;-)

I rather doubt it. My first husband was like you and had accumulated a pile of unpaid parking tickets. They actually came to his office and arrested him. We had to post bond to get him out that night.

But no, it is not a criminal offense, so you should be fine.

The ticket is attached to the car, which is attached to the registered owner, which
is me, and no, it isnt a crime, its a civil offense, im just wondering whether they
ever took action...

(they used to issue them like confetti around my place of work.. i eventually got fed
up when i was booked for parking within 10 metres of an intersection, and the
inspector wasnt carrying a measuring device, and when they changed the parking
regulations in the middle of the day, then booked everyone that had parked there in
the morning when it had been completely legal.... after that was when i started
throwing them away)

it is possible that unpaid parking tickets can escalate into a warrent for arrest,
though this is pretty unlikely, they tend to go to baliffs these days for collection,
but if enough are outstanding it is possible for a warrent to be issued. If it is
just 1 it is unlikely that it would show on a criminal report, this only shows
convictions and any pending action........
