That's what I'm after, the little dives full of surprises ... musically, anyway ...
I used to follow the music press but it's getting so samey that it starts to read like a parody of itself ... I'm hoping there are more "fanzine" type publications that aren't just slaves to the latest big thing and the corporate dollar.
Stuff like Lester Bangs used to write, Hunter S Thompson on music ... articles that weren't necessarily about music but had a wider scope - I suspect I'm living in the past too
Victoria Bitter, another to-do that will definitely get to-done!

There is a fine line between liking "cool" bands and being a elitist pretentious arse ... I think I'm still the latter, must learn to stop dissecting people's CD collections, it doesn't make you popular
