Also just sent money over to the Oz bank account today - Ozforex - so simple!

Rate was 1.7135 when I hit confirm - been flirting around that all day since.....

They are offering 1.72 now. Oh well, I didn't change much. It is great to see it moving this direction.

Its perhaps better to wait a while before transfering more money. With the Euro now sinking, pound has a better chance of gaining in value as people may consider it to be a relatively safer currency.

1.7653 most recent high - that's almost 1.77!

To think I changed £1,200 at 2.09 just last summer.

Isn't it! I set up a rate alert with Ozforex for 1.77 and I got an email to say it had been reached but when I went on it was 1.76, must've blinked and missed it! But at least it means it reached 1.77 which is only good news!

I'm gutted! We sold our house and wanted to play the currency rate but are still waiting for the house to settle. I'm seeing the extra bedroom going up in smoke!!

Is it falling becasue if Rudds tax on mining companies? Is taxing the miners a smart thing to do without them the OZ economy would be just as bad as the UK.

It's not helping but I reckon this current fall in the AUD is mainly to do with volatility in Europe and is out of Australia's control.

AUD usually reacts negatively to bad global markets. I guess it did not happen recently due to the fact that the US was in such a mess.

Is it actually falling or is it just that the rest of the world is recovering ?

Or is it a combination of both ?

Anyone care to wager some predictions for the next 3-6 months?

We are probably looking at exchange all of our money in August but could push that back to September or longer if needed. So I'm hoping things will stabilize somewhat in the upcoming months. Might be dreaming though!

AUD => USD --------- .70 to .75 (I'm dreaming) or .60 - .65 (I'm praying)
