Is AUS Probate Required for long-term visitor
Hi - a relative who has been in Australia for over ten years on a Visitors Visa has recently died in WA. He is a citizen of the UK and is resident there - though has been staying with relatives for (as I said) over ten years. He has a UK will, pays tax in the UK, has pensions from the UK. The executor of the will is seeking probate in the UK. He had a bank account in Aus - but no property. Do we need to seek probate in Aus?

I anticipate that the UK Will will need to be resealed in Australia - or the grant of probate in the UK will need to be resealed - to allow the executor/s to administer the estate located in Australia.
I would discuss with a local solicitor in WA.
Best regards.
