Default AU Credit Check when no longer in-country?

Hi all,

I lived in Australia for about two years and left in 2012.

Recently I tried to get a mortgage in principle to buy a house in the UK and because I lived and worked in Australia they carried out an Australian credit check.

Apparently they didn't like something about my time in Australia but, as is typical, wouldn't say what.

I'm a bit dumb when it comes to credit checks in Oz. I obviously don't live there any more but I still have my NAB Account.

Am I able to get a credit check on myself there? I had a look at Experian and they wanted things like my Oz Drivers license (never had one) which had to show my current address!

They also list an Australian passport as primary ID but not any other nationality

Has anyone not native to Australia has to run such a report before?

Thanks

This is the only route I'd go down, as recommended by the Australian Government Information Commissioner:

How do I get a copy of my credit report?| Office of the Australian Information Commissioner - OAIC

Plenty of private companies willing to take your money, but I wouldn't trust any of them with the amount of personal info you'll have to provide.
