I wouldn't mind but they should get rid of the people who haven't yet found the soap aisle. There's enough of them in my local supermarkets and they stink

Got to Asda and literally as soon as we walked into the store people were staring at Ollie's bare feet. I told the kids to ignore them and we carried on our shopping. Was happily choosing some shampoo when this blokes voice shouted "YOU - put some shoes on!" Turned around to find Oliver crouched on the floor in tears and one of the customer service people (incidentally he was Kosovan) having a right old go at him. I stormed over, picked Ollie up and asked what the problem was. He told me (in as much English as he could) that Asda's policy was ALL customers had to have shoes on (its a Health & Safety thing). I explained that the kids were kinda used to the oz way and Ollie didn't want his shoes on! I fully understand their concerns, however shouting at a small child is unforgiveable, and if that is Asda's rule then why don't they display it on the doors as you walk in?
Ok, feel calmer now I've vented my anger!

me too!
my kids regularly go into asda in handsworth, shefffield, with no shoes or socks on (they do insist on peeling their shoes off, even in the middle 0f winter!), but have never had a problem with them!! - I shall glare threateningly at any asda staff who dare look in my direction tomorrow when we go in shoeless!!!!!
how bizarre...you should write and threaten them with going to the papers!!
a good reason to go back to aus!!
Vive la shoeless!!
sue
ps, you wanna ask em why your shoeless child is more of a health and safety risk than the tramps and alco's they let wander in and out without so much as a blink!

What does him being Kosovan have to do with anything?

I'm just curious to know how she figured out he was Kosovan?
Did she ask him in the middle of the argument or something? Or is she really good with Balkan accents?

Obviously there's no way I can answer that without being accused of being a racist ........
