Interestingly, for other reasons this suggestion might be valid. There is growing evidence that the complete dryness is causing some structural damage to houses. It had been suggested that damping around the bottom bricks around your house might be a good idea...

Its actually the reason houses were cheaper to build in Perth - its land thats the ridiculous price.

26 degrees ? Are you sure ? Our aircon is set at 18 degrees, or what's the point ?

We've got two air con units. I can't remember the last time the bedroom one was used but the living room was was in evaporative once or twice last summer. Prefer windows and doors open, screen doors closed and ceiling fans on medium myself.

Holy cow. I'm thinking of lighting the fire at 20 degrees let alone having the aircon down that low. How on earth can you acclimatise to the real temperature if your house is that low? It must be unbearable any time you go outside.
