We must have found the biggest rip off last weekend, stayed in hotel on gold coast, just loved the water saving shower head, looked it up online, $195 in OZ, same thing in UK 5 GBP, had to check it, but yep, 5 quid

Need to start importing bathroom fittings I think

When we were sent our water bill we were given a voucher to take to Bunnings and buy a water saving shower head so it didnt cost a cent.

Pretty impressed with it as well.

Reading this thread http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=714362

I found the article above and thought it deserved a mention on this thread, as this thread had been mentioned in the article

I believe there are free showerhead exchanges in Victoria, nice idea.

We got ours for next to nothing with our 'water usage check' thing the council was doing a few years back ... very handy for peeps on tankwater.

Just Another Example Of Rip Off Australia!

If you want your face painted then i'm sure that someone will do it for nothing, and I would be worried if you are holding out your hands for a free sausage.

The queue will be round the block.

The recession is coming to Australia.

I'd better cut back on my iced-coffee habit then.

At least when recession comes there's room to drop the prices.

And why would it?

There is a perception now, and probably more than a perception, that Australians are paid the highest salaries in the world. Companies will milk that for all it's worth. Competition should take care of that but as we know that doesn't really exist in Australia.
