visa application went in on Nov 12 2ooo, anyone around the same date heard any news?
Have not completed our medical yet as we have been advised to leave it until we are called for medical. Are others waiting or just having them done before the embassy asks for them with the hope they will still be in date?

Hi Almey I dont know if this will help but here is our story so far regarding
processing times.
Applied for PR visa with a job in the MODL list (nurse) in Oct 2000 at that time
processing time was stated at 9 months.
We had a letter back saying the application was lodged late Oct 2000.
We had a request for medicals and returned them within a week of being asked
July 2001.
Obtained police checks and sent them off mid Aug 2001 before they were requested.
It is a year and 7 days since our application was lodged. Via the NG and PRESS we
have established the Au HC is currently processing Oct 2000 so we MIGHT hear
something soon but we are not holding our breath. This would put us on 12 / 13 months
processing time when 9 months was the estimate.
However we have heard of people applying in the same category with less points after
us and obtaining a visa. Since applications are dealt with in strict chronological
order within each group I can't see how ?
Above all we have learnt not to believe anything you read, hear or are told
when it comes to processing times, you learn to believe it will happen when and
if it happens.
You may sense the slightest hint of frustration in the above comments but as the
saying goes "good things come to those who wait" Lets hope so, and lets face it hope
is the only thing all of us have got.
Good luck

Thanks for the info.
Seems strange we lodged our visa approx 2 weeks after you have have still not even been called for medical,it seems the embassy have just aboput stopped working.
We have friends who just received their final visa and the medical processing did take about 3 months so I am sure you will hear soon.
Cheers
