Re: anyone applying july 2007
Just heard from our agent that our application has arrived and they have acknowledged it dated 2 July , it was posted on 20 June, they are requesting another 70 Dollers and it did not arrive before the 1st July deadline.:curse:
So off to town to get another bankers draft. Agent confirmed that they are still processing appllication. So a least we know that ours has arrived.
Good luck to everyone.
Nicky

Re: anyone applying july 2007
I emailed the center a week ago regarding pre-ack email and I got a reply yesterday.
=======================================
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your e-mail about your visa application under Australia’s
General Skilled Migration programme.
At this stage your visa application is not yet showing on our system. Due
to the huge number of visa applications received recently we are
experiencing delays in our application commencement time (which includes
uploading the application information onto our system, sending an
acknowledgment letter and granting bridging visas if appropriate). We are
continuing to process applications as quickly as possible but there are
currently delays of more than 12 weeks between applications being received
here and commencement. All applications (and bridging visas if
appropriate) are back dated to date received and compliance areas have
been advised of these delays.
The Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre is allocating resources to address
the existing backlog of applications that have yet to be receipted and
acknowledged.
As soon as your application has been commenced we will advise you.
If your postal/courier service can provide confirmation that your
application was received here there is no need for concern, you will hear
from us in the near future.
**We are including the information on application commencement times with
the application processing times in the auto response from the email
address [email protected] if you wish to check these timeframes
please send a blank email to this address.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL VISA APPLICANTS:
As of 21 May 2007 the Administration Unit of the Adelaide Skilled
Processing Centre (ASPC) changed the way they receipt and acknowledge
applications to improve the service provided to clients.
The Administration Unit is moving towards receipting payment within 7
working days of receiving an application. Currently we are receipting
payment for visa applications that were received on the 4 July, 2007.
Where e-mail communication has been authorised, applicants or their
authorised representatives should receive e-mailed acknowledgement that
the department has received their documents and receipted the relevant
visa application charge. If credit card payment fails at this stage
another attempt will be made on commencement onto our system and if fails
again at that time an officer will contact to offer the opportunity for
you to make arrangements for payment.
Once an application has been receipted it will undergo validity checking.
Once completed if the application is valid, the application will be
commenced on our system and an acknowledgement letter with a client
reference number and receipt will be sent, this will occur more than 12
weeks after lodgement. We are currently adding applications to our system
and sending acknowledgement letters for applications received 10 May 2007.
If an application is determined to be invalid all documents will be
returned and a refund of the visa application charge arranged.
In its Client Service Charter the department has committed to providing
timely service delivery and the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre is
committed to reducing the processing time for all applicants.
We apologise for any inconvenience/concern the delay may cause but we do
appreciate your patience in this matter.
Due to the large number of visa applications received with the incorrect
fee lodged after 1 July 2007 Management have decided that all applications
with the incorrect fee included by bank cheque/draft/money order will be
returned to the authorised postal address. A letter will be included to
offer the opportunity to return the visa application with correct fee and
have the application back dated to the original date of receipt if it is
returned by 31 August 2007.
Any applications with an authorised credit card payment will have the full
new fee taken and their acknowledgement will advise of the amount
debited. If the applicant does not accept the new fee of A$2060 being
taken, the fee will be refunded and application returned as invalid.
Yours sincerely,
Department of Immigration and Citizenship

Re: anyone applying july 2007
Hi folks, our agent sent off our forms with a cheque 3 weeks ago. Can i ask what exactly the confirmation email is about. Probably a stupid question i know, but keep seeing people talk about it.

Re: anyone applying july 2007
The confirmation email is an email to either yourselves or your agency (depending which way you are doing things) to say that they have received your application (sometimes you get an acknowledgement letter if you haven't put an email contact on your application form) and that you will be assigned a case officer in due course. This is what i gather anyway, I've been told by my agency that we should received this in approximately six weeks of sending in our applicaition. We are applying for a 136 MODL. Hope this helps
good luck

Re: anyone applying july 2007
There appears to be a delay with the acknowledgements and reference no's from DIAC at the moment! A lot of us Junies have been waiting 7 weeks or more from receipt of the pre-ack! Some agents suggest the delay is due to the increase in applications prior to the Sept changes. Just thought I would post to warn you - though no doubt the first thing you will do every morning is check your emails as all of us are.
Good luck!

Re: anyone applying july 2007
We also received an email today confirming the application is in and the payment has been taken (hasn't shown up on the credit card statement yet though).
Says it will be a further 6 weeks to proper acknowledgement and allocation of CO, so we are in for a long wait I think...
Good luck to all

Hello Guys ,
Just found this forum and been reading through.....
Wanted to join all you July peeps - sent ours off 12 July by courier and showing as arrived 16 July - obviously no confirmation yet!
We're applying on the 136 MODL - OH is an Electrician.
Guess we've joined the backlog and playing the big ole waiting game!
We have put our house on the market already and found a buyer within days! Yikes! So we're really hoping it all comes off!
Good Luck EVERYBODY with their application
Lynda and Steve
PS. Good to hear some of you are getting receipts!

Re: anyone applying july 2007
just got our confirmation email, so happy. And OH is happy that i'll now stop bugging him to check his credit card statement to see if money has been taken!
it does say on the email that the delay in acknowledging applications 'will not impact on the time taken for your application to be allocated a case officer' so hopefully not too much of a delay then.

Going crazy already
We only sent our 136 visa off on the 23rd of July but I am already going crazy checking emails and this site for news and updates!
Lets hope we can all keep each other sane over the next few months - especially with the delays anticipated as per PPs information from DIMA.
Best of luck and lets hope for a speedy response for all July applicants, fingers crossed.

Slight hold up on proceedings...my meds have been referred to the Dimia Docs in Oz. It will take 'around 3 weeks' to get a response from them.
And I've just had to apply for an Oz Police check, so another month to wait!
We were doing so well, with a CO, file number and acknowledgement in a week!
Any tips to help the next 4 weeks go by quickly gratefully received!
Hope everyone is going well with their July applications
