Default Sim only mobile phone contracts?

Hi there,

I'm looking for a sim only mobile phone contract with about 500MB internet usage so far the cheapest I can find is Optus for $30.

Does anyone know of any better deals around please?

Thank you!

If that's the best price you've found I guess you've only looked at the major Telcos and not the companies that piggy back on them?

E.g. http://www.vaya.net.au/?option=Mobil...=Power%20Plans

I use Amaysim 39.90, no contract. Get free std and mobile calls in oz and 4gb which I tether to the laptop and iPad and never run out. I also buy an add on $15 to call uk which I do mobile to mobile calls without worrying about cost.

Amaysim uses the Optus network and has good coverage.

I can vouch for Vaya...my wife and I both have a Sim-only deal with them - they use the Optus 3G (and 4G, I think) network.

Note that if you want to port an existing mobile number to them, you have to let them know this before the Vaya sim is activated. I learnt this to my cost!

I use Virgin Mobile BYO $19/mo sim-only
1.25 GB data, can rollover credit for 1 month
credit includes international calls (unlike telstra and optus)
uses optus network. good coverage.

Pennytel, unlimited everything and 5 gigs of download, piggybacks via Vodaphone direct, has their own international voip network for cheap overseas calls. 35 bucks per month and is an established telco overseas.

+1 I've been with them for some time now and always been happy with their pricing and their service.

Their service is professional and their product "does what it says on the box" in my experience.

+1 also get bonus credit that increases each time you top up. For example ive just topped up with $29 and now have in the region of $300 credit to use on texts and phone call anywhere. Also free virgin to virgin outside of the credit.

My $19 BYO phone plan is postpaid though (open ended). Every month I get a direct debit of $19. I hardly notice it.

I run their prepaid simple plan, $19 every three months. It depends how much you use the phone, and in particular, data, but the longer expiry makes it worthwhile for me, and if I run out I can renew early.
