Whereas the union staff, aka posties are supposedly, according to the propaganda monitor in the staff tea room are now running at 90 pct plus first time delivery. Amazon must have bought it, cos no way are they using private contractors.
So if what you say is correct, then Amazon are going for speed and reliability over cost. Well whatdoyaknow.

Definitely. Unfortunately for them, if you care to look at reviews from around the world, the most common complaints belies that belief. Especially in the UK. So when they do break away from Aus Post, and go over to private contract, which they will have to do for costings, expect a much worse service than Aus Post will give them.

https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.amazon.co.uk

In the interim, Aus Post have signed up that all parcels that come via the core postal service are to be ready and scanned for delivery by 8AM every day, they are trialing this nationwide now. We have one area in our location under trial with dummy runs and it's working ok. If their items ever get mixed up with ordinary parcels they will be stuffed. Aus Post can stream them differently.... for a premium

They are paying express rates for their postage in other words just to set up here. Don't expect that to last.

Not sure what they are going to do with larger items though...... That's out of Aus Posts hands, so check the website and see if they are only starting off with smaller postie deliverable items.

Posties now deliver 3kg items and 20cm x 20cm is the new limit.... That's up 3 fold size increase on this time 18months ago.
