so assuming we get the visa etc.....

We dont have a massive amount of stuff we want to bring over with us but its more than just suitcases. so my questions is rather than trying to buy half a container etc is there a pallet we can send by air mail or something like that?

if so how much etc? someone on heres bound to know!!

You can share a container too and only pay for the space that you actually use

When I moved about 6.5 years ago we excessed luggaged about a wardrobe size full of stuff on our british airways flight. It was quite entertaining moving it through customs on a couple of trolleys which extended to about 2.5 metres high on each trolley.

It worked out cheaper than shipping it at the time and we didn't have to wait for the stuff. No idea what such excess would cost now.

If there's no hurry, go with the answer you got from verystormy, but we did airfreight a couple of large, flattish boxes (wardrobe-ish) of personal effects. Mostly my shoes and handbags IIRC :)

Indeed, I came the long way round on the basis you got two free heavy cases (at the time). Having space for stuff that you can use immediately is a good move, and some airlines do quite reasonable deals for at least the first few extra cases.

Also worth looking if you can find a cheap business class fare/upgrade. Not only do you get extra luggage included, heavier (32kg) IIRC the excess bag can also be up to the weight of the heavier business class size inclusions.

And you get to move to Australia in style !
