Ah, but what you don't understand my friend, is that most of this type that come on here are members of what is called the homecoming revolution - a government sponsored front for enticing professionals back so they can keep their tax base going 
and who lie through their teeth. We've been around them long enough to recognize most of their tactics, their names from other forums, and know who they are by how they post.

tad paranoid? four poster's dominate the boards : Campbell, Tegwyn, Tourist Trap and Pablo. 90% of which is about crime. zzzzzzzzzz

Just read amy newpaper, website or watch any news on SA and guess what 90% of the topic is.

Many South Africans try to dilute the issue.
Bottom line my friend - IT IS VERY REAL
That is whu the Tourist Board of South Africa recently stated that it is not safe for toursist to visit SA.
So perhaps you know better ?

When ever it is invented stuff with no factual content, there is never a link.

if it bleeds it leads. we all know that crime in SA is a problem, but every day you guys trawl the net for some more horror stories. If you wanted to you could turn NZ into a gang bangers paradise: Drive by shootings, babies killed, escaped convicts, etc etc. The thing is you don't enlighten anybody, everybody already knows. And you all come across as fanatics - which im sure you're not.
Most countries have crime but South Africa is the MOST CRIME RIDDEN country on the planet.
Of course, I too am sure you are not trying the water down the facts about South Africa. Go to the NZ section and post about the crime here and see the response you get.
52 murders a day ( reported) in SA by comparison to New Zealand
THe South Africa Tourist Board has just stated that SA is NOT a safe destination for tourists.
BTW, where in SA are you ?

Dammit, I saw it today too, the tourist board expressed concern about the safety at the 2010 WC after the stats release.

Tried. Couldn't find it. What I did find was an interesting report by the DA that stated that 32 percent of crime does not get reported.
