Hi
Looking for some advice on extending a 3 month visa to 6 months
were flying out to SA on 12 august this year from Uk
But their is a snag I submitted a Permanent Residency application in May this year, By the time we arrive it will have been processing 3 months with possibly another 3 months to go, or if i'm unlucky could take longer.
So with hindsight we should probably have delayed our departure date. However circumstances beyond our control mean we have to go in august. Were booked on the flight with one way tickets not intending to return in the near future.
Would the ticket thing be a problem when applying for an extension if we need one

Hi Ian,

I have never had my ticket checked when entering SA (even before I had PR) so the chances are you'll be ok. I haven't done it for a while so I can't confirm 100%, but it's very unlikely you'll have a problem.

Have spoken to the agency dealing with
My PR, they reckon I should be fine so
long as I have a Travel itinerary and can
provide monthly bank statements from
the UK while I'm in SA. Will see how it
goes, might have to play it by ear nothing
new their
