Hippo Burp Day!

T is happy and sad right now, as it is the eve of her xxth birthday.  Happy that it's her birthday, sad that it's not her 21st!   Packages have been arriving from the UK all week, and even I have managed to get her present sorted already (those that know me realise that this is a miracle in itself!).  So, we awake bright and early tomorrow to open the pressies, and then I am off to a work 'Breakfast Seminar' on the rights of employers, which should be good.

To celebrate another year older, T and I will be off to have dinner at a posh place we've waited to go to until now - will report back later on how it is.  Then, on Sat night we will be going out with friends to have a few beers and a bit of a boogie.  T really knows how to make 'her' day last a week!

Things have been up and down generally, with T applying like crazy for permanent jobs all over the shop.  Not a day goes by when we're not posting off another application to somewhere.  It's bloody disheartening though when the closing date comes and not a sausage is heard from the school.  Still, try try try again and all that - we'll get there in the end.  The up side is that T's current job is keeping her happy and occupied - if only THAT was a perm job, our worries would be over (!!!!!!).

My work is still pretty good, with the new team all settling down.  We've just been given the go ahead to find a Recruitment Coordinator to help us all out with registering and interviewing candidates which is great.  PLUS the firm are planning to send me off on a 4 day course in Sydney next year.  How cool is that?! 

We're in limbo land a bit at present, as the house deal slowly moves towards completion, so have less enthusiasm about doing stuff about the flat.  Still, not too much longer and we'll be in.  Need to sort the place a bit and start looking at packing things up - but will leave that for a week or two yet.

Short and sweet today, and T promises to write tomorrow with the gift tally and messages of thanks.
