The week we have just had.

The week started off quite well, and we were just waiting for the bank to offer us the finance on the house. We were quite anxious, but when the call came on Tuesday that they had offered us a conditional offer we were happy, but the conditions were us proving we had permanent residency-which we don't. A slight snag there I hear you say, but no - not for us (we hope!).  We just got a letter from Andy's work saying we were applying for the work to reside visa and their certificate to prove they were a proper organization allowed to sponsor people. John (the mortgage man) picked these up yesterday, Thursday, and hopefully we will hear sometime today. The other news about the house is that there is a clause in the contract that the vendors changed at the last minute, and when they told me I knew it didn't sound right, but after a while of saying 'all would be fine' the agent slightly confused me and I signed. Well, it is only a little hiccup, but it means the vendor has longer to sort out the people who are renting, than we have to get have our searches and building inspections done that cost us money. The short of it is, we could pay for all this to be done and they could then pull out. Our solicitor was not that impressed, so she wrote a strongly worded letter on our behalf- they are great aren't they!  So, fingers crossed for us on both counts there.

Otherwise we have be quite busy on the social front. We went fishing on Tuesday as it was a calm night, but when we got there, the wind had got very strong all of a sudden, so I was even less impressed with being on the wharf, at night, in the dark, but with the wind almost blowing me over as well? Well I was just going to head back to the car and let Andy do his thing, when out of the corner of our eyes we saw a fin! It was a dolphin fin! It was only a few meters away from us and stayed around for quite a while. I was SO excited at seeing one so close!!!  It was worth going just for that, and we realised that with a dolphin around, the fish would be outta there.  So we packed up and when home, only stopping for the best chips ever from a little place in Sumner.

On Wednesday we went to Mark and Gail's flat for dinner to catch up on all there exciting gossip. They, as were Kelly and Carl, are really excited at what we were planning to do in Rollestone.  So much so in fact, that they had Colin Lock, the land man, come over to see them and only went a bought a plot of land right next to ours! The Rollestone fever is spreading once again! We are made up for them, and us, as having my sister and our friends near us will be great. It's also reassuring for us that others 'see' what we do when it comes to building our own home and all that.

Last night I went out with the people from work to the Indian round the corner. It was really nice of them to want to go out and have a social event to welcome me to the team. My class of 2 increased to 3 this week, so life at school has been hard! No really, entertaining and trying to teach 2 kids is quite challenging, but next week 2 more start and things will be grand! Go to go now, but everyone keep in touch. T

I just love the way that

any hurdles that you encounter, you can respond so positively. You got a knock with the house sale, but you've sorted it out, the bank wanted something from you - you provided it!! there weren't any fish - but you were glad to see the dolphin. I just love the way you guys see things and experience things. I really, REALLY love reading your blog. It encourages me to think differently. You sound so happy, and you've worked so hard for everything. Good on you! And thank you so much for taking the time to offer me some advice, its much appreciated
