New house...?Posted on Sunday 5 August 2007 at 07:07 - Post Comment
So, on the back of T getting all successful and securing a job, we are now looking at using it to get another mortgage and buy a city pad here. I'm useless when it comes to all this, and T has definately got the eye when it comes to investments and the like. So, we went to go and see a couple of open homes, and are thinking of putting in an offer on a 3 bed place. If we work things right, we should even be able to keep it on during and after the build in Rolleston, so giving us an investment property. And from there... who knows. This time next year Rodders, miwlyonnaires!
It's given us something to look forward to, and will fall in nicely with how things stand in the UK with renting our property there. Talking of which, the management company there seem to have halved their management fees from 10% to 5%. Sweet! All is still running smoothly there, and so that is all good news. We just hope it will stay that way for as long as we need it to!
Now she has the job, T is going mental on Trademe, buying up all sorts of kiddie tat to furnish her new classroom with. And get this - she just won an 'Alphabet Catapillar', and the seller got in touch. Guess who it is....! It's only the deputy head's wife of the school she will be working at!!!! She sent T an email saying how much they were looking forward to having T join the staff, that the catapillar was originally for a year 3 class but was too young for them, and that T could have it for 5 bucks less than the actual price as it would be 'mates rates'. Small world or what, and how nice to say that in an email? We have good feelings about this school.
The ginger scouse I spoke about before has now started at my work and is the first member of my team. A top bloke, he and his wife have come from a similar background to us, and we've just lent them the O'Dell kitchen start-up set that has so far done the business for us, TeamEmbo and now them. They are over later this evening for a few beers which will be a good giggle. the second team member will be starting on Tueasday, so it's all good in the Select Industrial world, and we should be really pushing the business forward in a short period of time.
It's our 2nd year wedding anniversary tomorrow, and we just can't believe that it has been so long already! According to Wikipedia, it is our 'cotton' anniversary, so we have both been trying to think of innovative ways to get gifts for each other. I was thinking of dusters or tea towels..? Anyway, we will be off out for an evening meal and to spend some time together, and are really looking forward to that. Who'd have thought 2 years ago that we'd be in NZ and settling in so smoothly? Not me, that's for sure. Amazing how things work out isn't it?
