Interview Update

So, how did it all go?  Well, unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it - Toni didn't get the job.  This leaves the path clear for any more local jobs - good - but also means that we are thinking something along the lines of 'well, if not that one - then is there any chance of one anywhere else?!'.  The good thing was that the head gave T a 30 minute debrief about where her interview responses could have been stronger, and also said that her CV was certainly selling her very well which can only be a good thing.

So, what next?  Well, they closed the applications for the job T REALLY wants yesterday, and will be shortlisting by Thursday so we will know then if plan B will be either thrown into action, or thrown out the window.

In other news... well we don't have any, as for reasons too long and boring to go into here, we are currently anticipating pay day (polite way of saying skint) and so the next few days will be pretty quiet.

Work for me is picking up a bit which can only be good news for us here, as it looks like I'll soon be tapping them up for a work to reside visa.  Shouldn't be an issue, and it's great that we have options which will take the pressure off T somewhat.  Am just about to call our emigration agent to see what the SP is regarding this, so here's hoping he'll gice it the big thumbs up.

Bloody hell - all this trouble over getting a long term primary teaching contract.  Who would have thought it would be this tricky - especially since they are crying out for secondary teachers?!  Still, we shall fight the good fight with all our might, and success will ultimatly be ours!

Annoyance of the day:  Why oh why oh why can't UK service providing companies have a direct dial land line number that is not an 0870 or 0845 number?!   Don't the inconsiderate gits realise that someone may need to pay outstanding bills from overseas and have no wish to spend $30 on listening to some droid telling them how important our business is to them, and then to just cut them off.  Carphone Warehouse - you are rubbish.

Good mention of the day: Abbey National - on the other hand - have got it well sorted out, with a 'from ourside the UK' number on their cash and credit cards that is reverse charges.  I call them every now and then just to say hello and to see what the weather in Chester is like.  Well, you've got to get your moneys worth out of 'em somehow.

'Nuff love and respec' from the NZ massiv!
