Busy Lazy Days

After saying we'd have an easy weekend, it's actually been pretty full on.  Saturday morning the cat alarm got us up at stupid o'clock.  God knows why, but at around 6am every morning Oscar insists on either pouncing all over the bed, so waking us up as he's certainly no featherweight now, or just sitting on our heads and purring like crazy along with chewing any available earlobes.  Truly mental!  Was fine for a few days, and actually really cute, but it's starting to wear a bit thin now.  Hopeful the removal of his knackers in a few months will settle him down a bit.  Little does he know, eh?!

So, after the rude awakening, it was straight up and at 'em.  First off, we had a Tupperware Demo to prepare for, so we headed off to my office to 'borrow' the display board and print off a few 'Tupperware Demo Here Today' signs for it to put on the verge and show any prospective people where it was at.  Then a spot of vege shopping at 'The Funky Pumpkin' which knocks out some quality fruit and veg cheaper than anywhere else we've found.  After that we went on to one of Toni's Tupperware colleagues to borrow the kit she had so kindly offered to lend us for the day.  I got to meet her for the first time, along with their 3 kids and Justin her husband.  They were great, and what was going to be a pick up and dash turned into an hour long chat.  Lovely people, and great to meet some actual Kiwi's outside of work at last!

Once back at the flat we got on with sorting it out as it was in a bit of a shit state.  We both flew at it so it was soon sorted and we were ready for the influx of Tupperware faithful.  Unfortunately 2 hrs and no visitors later, we called it a day.  Bit of a disapointment, but nothing we can't handle.  At least we tidied the flat!  So, we are going to give it a couple more goes with a wider leafleting blitz and if THAT doesn't work then knock that side of things on the head and try the 'pressure or guilt anyone we know into having a party' method.  Seeing as we know about 12 people between us this method may also have its limitations.

After clearing the plastic away, and seeing as it was still a crappy rainy day we thought 'sod it', and stuffed our faces with home made Apple and Rhubarb Crmble (Go Ton!) complemented with plenty of red wine, whilst watching 'The Interpreter' on DVD.  A fitting end to an average day.

Today the weather was much better, but decided to ignore it for the morning and settle into our comfy lounge chairs to wach 'The World's Fastest Indian', a DVD about a South Island Kiwi from Invarcargill who still holds the land speed racord for streamlined motorcycles under 1000cc.  It was bloody fantastic, and a real eye opener to what people can acheive if they put their minds to it.  I highly reccommend it to you all!  Just as it got to the end Julia and Nick got in touch via MSN messenger, and we had a great chat together for nearly an hour.  I can't describe how good it is to web cam chat with your friends, even if Nick does have a fascination with showing us his arse!   Bloody funny I can tell ya, and it really got our spirits up after a glum Saturday.

The feel good glow from the film and the web chat really helped to get us up and out of the house to run a few errands, one of which was to go and stick 400 Tupperware flyers on windscreens at the local shopping mall.  It seemed a great idea, but I've never felt so guilty doing something perfectly legal!  Probably something to do with me detesting having anything stuck on MY windscreen, yet doing it to others?  Still, 30 minutes later and no-one had stopped us, abused us, or otherwise sent us packing so job done for now.  No calls yet, but we shall just have to wait and see.

And now, believe it or not, it's Sunday evening and the week starts again tomorrow!  I'm back onto 7.30am starts, which are all well and good as we finish at 4.30 but I really struggle to get up.  More often than not I'm out of bed, brush my teeth and out the door in 5 minutes - which as I'm sure anyone could tell you - doesn't equal a great start to the working day.  Ah well, it's paying the mortgage, and keeping us in veg.

Talking of veg in a roundabout sort of way, Toni has nowshed 6.5kgs, which is about a stone in old money.  Check her out in this 'side on, slimmer of the week; shot:

And compare it to this taken at Christmas:

And all from 8 weeks dieting - how good's that?!  None of her clothes fit any more, and while this is great in a way, it's also a pain as we shipped them 1/2 way across the world for them not to fit.  I've also lost a bit in sympathy, and the infamous Andy Arse is a little diminished from it's former glory, but still remains a force to be reckoned with.

All in all a busy lazy weekend, with not much to report, but at least all this typing keeps me out of mischief.
