Well, it seems that everyone is doing them these days, and who are we to be left behind?! So, this is the first entry in the Wiz'n'Ton blog, and hopefully it won't be the last.
3 and a half months into a new life in Christchurch, New Zealand, Toni and I are starting to settle in a bit. Achievements so far?
- Found a nice flat near the city centre to rent
- I found a job 1 week in
- Toni's NZQA and teacher number have been issued, so she can start actively working in NZ as a primary school teacher
- Bought a car for $700 - and it is STILL going :-)
- Our container of UK stuff has arrived and we have got it all set up here
- Following my job, we got a mortgage
- We then bought 2000 square metres of land
- Just got the plans completed for a new house to build on the land
- Just been admitted to hospital following a suspected brain bleed. All good now but that was a bit of a scare!
Still to do?
- Get a full time teaching contract for Toni
- Commission the house builders to begin building
- See more of New Zealand
