Brighton to Auckland here we come!

are we nearly there yet?

There must come that point once the flights are booked and the notice period at work is being, well, worked that people just get a bit blergh about it all. Just had my lovely team down to Brighton for the day but lordy it is hard planning for a period of time when you won't be there any more!

I really do now just want to be there starting afresh, getting settled in. Part of my mind is shying away from all the goodbyes which I really don't want to have to do, but overall I just can't be bothered with all this packing milarkey. Well let me narrow that down - the argument over what we should/shouldn't pack and what we need to take with us. Darryl has soooooo much stuff but you know he hasn't used some of it - ever. Oh I get  lol!

I've been worried by the amount of posts I've seen about the expense of stuff but you know what? this happened to mum when we moved back from Singapore and people telling her to take EVERYTHING like the UK hadn't discovered vases or something in the 90s. I am, however, probably going to send back our washing machine to NZ - it's taken me years to build up my wardrobe and it's not about to get destroyed by some rag-making toploader . I also indulged slightly in the House of Fraser sale and bought a new goose down quilt to take back, along with some bed linen at dirt cheap prices - but these will make for a far nicer evening tucked in during the wilds of an Auckland winter :)

Do we buy a sofa? Tumble dryer? Bed? More to the point, can we afford it?! Probably not, so I've been stalking Trademe looking for some likely suspects. Bring on the online shopping I say! Someone please take these choices away from me!
