Special Friends
I've been meaning to update this Blog for a while but as usual life gets busy and some things just keep getting put off.
I was thinking a lot about being part of the BE site today. It really would have helped a lot when we set out on our journey 20 years ago. I read some of the posts of the new expats and the questions they ask and the great advise they get from other posters and it makes me realize what a great commodity this web site is!
I like being part of this site because I still feel an infinity with the fellow expats on here but mostly it is great to join in with the constant banter and fun and the friendships you form and the bond that really connects you to many people. You always know if you ask a question or advise on something you will get some great replies and there is always someone that will make you laugh, someone that will make you mad and sometimes even make you cry...
I cried today when I heard of the loss of Dollyllama. I cried for her family and for her close friends. I cried for the kind, gratious and beautiful lady who sadly lost her fight to live and who died way too soon. I cried for the friend I had made but had never had chance to meet and I know so many more posters on here feel the same way.
I lcried again as I read so many of the PM's I had shared with Dolly. Everyone of these messages asked how I was doing and how were my family. That was Dolly, caring about others and never a bad word said. It's hard to explain to someone that you are mourning the loss of someone you have never met but all of you on here understand it. We may be Pixels but some people on here are special Pixels....Dolly was one of them.
The reason I opened up my Blog again tonight was because of Dolly. Each time I had posted an entry Dolly would PM me, then she would nag me to post another episode and being Dolly she would then apologize for nagging me!
So Dolly..I will carry on soon and update my journey and I'm sorry I left it so long. Each time I Blog I'll be thinking of you. I'm so glad I had the chance to talk with you and I'm so sorry our time with you was so short. You will be missed dear sweet lady but never forgotten. RIP dear friendxx
