i have just joined so not quite sure how it works so here i go ,i am wondering if anyones been in our situation our daughter and her husband migrated to queenland in january this year 2009 they have a permanent resitdent visa they have been lucky enought to get work so things are working fine at the moment she is are only child and we are desperate to join them and she is desperate for us to be with them i am wondering as anyone been in the same boat and would be grateful for any advice on how soon we can apply for a parent visa

Bit confused as to why you would have started a blog to ask your question when it's soooooo much easier to post a query on the Australia Immigration Forum. No one will answer you here (well apart from me of course!) http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=32

I would say though that Parent Visas are extremely hard and expensive to get but good luck.
