Now you know my struggle to get a disabled permit for the truck...my crawling into the Doctors surgery on my hands and knee's pleading for one.. and still no luck ....

So Joycee go to Dr Mahatmacoat today....My foot hurts Doctor, she says ..oh yes, he says you can't walk far with that....you better have a disabled sticker for your car...Half way through the form he says Ray is not allowed to use this, he won't she says.

THE BASTARD ..............   

There will be a long chat on July 11th on my next visit

The Embarrassment

So I go down to the DMV to get my driving licenced renewed for another six years ...

So the cheeky cow behind the counter get up the new photo they took and compares with the old one and says "ooh you have aged in the last six years and look at that ...your wearing the same shirt" ...Me ..I just slink out...Well!!! its my driving licence renewal shirt ... 

DR MAHATMACOAT

So two weeks after I came out of hospital following my bodily shut down I went to see Dr Mahamacoat to discuss the results of my hospital tests. We went through the various things, some good, some bad then we came to the brain cat scan and his comment "they found nothing there" had me worried a bit, but of course that was medical humor. What did piss me off the brain cat scan took 5 minutes ..if that, but cost me $2746, So if you ever go into a US hospital ...refuse that treatment...

Joyce was with me and I got back onto the subject of a disabled sticker for my truck, he took my blood/oxygen level..a mere 90/100 not good..but great for getting the sticker,  and asked why I wanted a disabled sticker, So I told  him for when I go shopping, with that Joycee burst out laughing saying, you have not been shopping since the Silk Plant shop incident 5 years ago .... (another funny story) The doctor now says anything else since you lost that one, Umm!! when I go to the Gun Shows.. Its a fair walk from the car park to the hall, that went down great.. His clipboard and form went back in the draw...Damn ..blew out again...why are doctors so anti-gun..

Any other problems he said, Well there is another thing I said ..I would like a 4 hour erection please, Oh!! he said, your thinking Cialis, Great I say!! .... He start reading all my charts and records etc, Sorry Ray he says... not for you I'm afraid, certain problem you have make it a bit dangerous, I knew it!! the old  myxomatosis problem rearing its ugly head ...But he said I can help you with a Cialis product that is good for nocturnal emission..not thinking ..great I said, Iwill take it. And only $25 ....see pic ....

Who said Doctors have no sense of humor.....

Winter has arrived in Florida

Winter has arrived in Florida with a vengeance, At 6am a mere 53f  (11.6C) extra blanket are being issued to all and sundry.... Will we survive ????  

Sick Old Man ...

A some of you know I am quite a frail sickly old man ...  So to keep you up todate with the latest happenings. (Us old people like to talk about our medical problems ) We had some UK visitor stay for a week ....and the guy got really sick with the Flu by the second day ..so naturally I got it a week later ... For nearly two week I was really down..could not eat (lost 15lbs) could not even smoke.... Joycee phoned the doctor, he did not want to see me ..but phoned a prescription thru to a pharmacy for me ..With some medicine I recovered  pretty fast ... And for two days was feeling good...

Then I got the dreaded ear infection (Acute otitis media) ..... Something I get every two years or so..its so painful .its difficult to sleep as its impossible to lay down on the infected ear ..

This required a Doctors visit.... My diagnosis is correct ..and I get a script for Cipro ..my favorite antibiotic...and very powerful...Now I get on well with my Doctor ..Mr Mahatmacoat..so when I go to pay ....Its no charge to you Ray ... (love that Guy)

He knows I have no medical insurance.... and the ear cleared up in 3 days...although I am dubious about the Doctors claim that my ear infections are caused by smoking ..

Like all Doctors in the States it seems they love tests (mainly cos they get a cut off the cost)

and many times mine has suggested blood tests..and every time I have always refused ..But this time I agreed and they made arrangment to go the following Friday ... What a bloody nightmare that was ...To start you have to fast for 12 hours before ..then when you get to the blood suckers office ..negotiate a price ... (50% off for cash) = $70 ..then whinge cos I can't remember my SSN... Now I have a thing about needles going in me .. one of the reasons I have never gone before... So the damn women pricks me 6 times and still can't find a vein .. Then I made the fatal mistake of looking at what she was doing .. get all whoosey and nearly faint .. Take a break and a drink off water ..and feel better for the second attempt..This time its the back of the hand ... another 6 times and thats it..one look and get whoosey again ..

Enough of this I say ...I'll come back another day ... yere right ...

But Joycee insist's I go again.. so I contact a Phlebotomist friend for some advice which has me warming the arm and doing a session on the weight machine before I go ..Which I did at 6am on the Monday... Joycee decides to come with me for moral support (in truth.. making sure I actually go) We get there at 7am .. Joycee positions herelf between my head and the needle.. a few minutes later they have their armful and we are out of there... DONE..

So this friday I go in for the results ...before I go I find an old walking stick..... I have a plan ... So I hobble into the doctors office leaning on my walking stick ..hunched over a bit to look the part .. Bummer!! my chem 14 and other tests come up with nothing ... besides the  myxomatosis which I have had for years... So the doctor ask why I am using a walking stick... I tell him I have trouble walking very far and the stick helps but what I really need is a disabled sticker for the truck... Now the guy knows my lungs are shot ..and all the drugs I have to take for my blood pressure.. so I thought this was a cinch ... Bastard says.. We can talk about that on your next visit in 6 months ...Now I have to remember what I said until next April ... and for the finale.. I go to pay my bill and again its no charge to you Ray ..   My charm still works on a few people ....   
    

The New AC cometh

About a month or so back our A/C unit started to show signs of tiredness so I get our man Leroy Mohammed Goldstein our a/c man to come and check it out, Its only about 8 years old but was a cheapy when installed and has never been that good, was always noisy...and of course it was only 10 seer...where the minimum now is 13 seer ....

Naturally it was beyond economical repair so the decision was made to replace the whole system including the air handler and the thermostat.. and at $3500 it had to be good  we also went up from 3 to 4 ton............

So fitting commenced two days later and we were soon back to super cool ...........................

Leroy ordered up a supa dupa thermostat which eventually got fitted last week..now here's the problem this bleedin thing is so advanced with touch screen and all, multiple programs can be set up in it to save on energy..even switches between heat and cool automatically  

So after a week of using it I can now manually adjust the temperature..... Anybody have an eight year old available to set it up for me .....
