Dishonesty really get's my goat!!

*get on soap-box*

It shakes me to the core how some people can be so openly dishonest!  I live my life, naiively I guess, expecting people to have similar moral's to me, and quite clearly they don't.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not mounting my moral high horse here, I by no mean's always tow the line, but when we are talking about something so important as visa's, people's lives, where another country is expecting nothing but utmost honesty from applicants, I'm shocked at some people's lack of respect they have for "the system" and DIAC. Let me explain...

I've just been reading a thread where some member's are planning to openly apply (or maybe they've already applied) for a SSV in another state than the one they want, with the blatent intention of not staying there for the required two years, one member even suggested to get a PO Box so the state wouldn't know!! Don't get me wrong, there is no-one out there that want's a PR visa more than us, but even that's below my "lower than a snake's belly button" standards!

I hope to God, that Australian States have other method's of checking where these people are, that they can check up via medicare or superannuation policies or something!!?? And then they can be unceramoniously grabbed by the scruff of the neck and slung out when found to be breaking the conditions of their visa, like a lot other visa types.

If we don't get into WA, then we will either wait here in Blighty, or if we decide to apply to another state where our skills are in demand, then we will wait there for the required 2 years, then move to WA with our conciounces in tact.

And.......dismount!

There we are... one blog and the world's sorted!

They can check hun - in fact you have to submit any documents they require to prove you are in the state. i know one couple who moved state after 6 months because they couldn't get work and the whole move was approved and above board - but they had to prove that they had tried to get work in their State first.

This bothers me too. We have had people say to us 'Oh you could easily move from WA now as it is a moral obligation only' - well I believe if the State is good enough to give you what could be your only chance to get into Australia, then at least honour your end of the bargain.

We had never been to WA, but it is the best move we have made and we are officially settled. Imagine getting a visa and DIAC suddenly not keeping their end of the bargain and telling you quite suddenly that you have to live somewhere else.

There is no difference to them doing that than a visa applicant applying with the full intention of not living there.

Live there for two years (or settle if you like it), do your surveys and make a fair go of it.

Please don't give up about your visa, things have a habit of sorting themselves out - you will see.
