The nicest rental (in our price range) have said yes to shorter term rental! We have had to commit to at least 3 months but they have been persuaded (took a couple of begging phone calls - bey hey - I'm not proud)!
So we get the keys on the 1st (or is that a Sunday?) anyway - even if house doesnt complete that weekend we'll have a slight overlap so we can move in our own leisurely pace.
OH has handed in his notice today - his last day is Thursday 30th April. MADNESS! I hear you cry! We've not even got our visa yet! BUT we are hoping its going to be any day now, and he has lines up some agency work after then so we'll be right!
I woke up this morning feeling quite bright. I felt sure we'd have some visa news - but it just goes to show how my instincts are out of kilter at the moment.
I took #2 Perthette's bed to my friends house who's buying it off us, and I helped re-assemble it. She had a few tears and made me promise we wouldnt say goodbye. I've got to admit I had a lump in my throat at the thought! Txt message from the airport was agreed and NOT telling her exact date we are going.
#2 Perthette (the one with the medical conditions) brouht a letter home on Friday - she has to go to the optician tomorrow for an eye test - the numbers on the form seem to suggest that she has abou 50% eye sight in her left eye (it is sunken because of her genetic condition) Weirdly her pupil (black bit) is very oval instead of round? I have since managed to convince myself she is going slowly blind, and she herself is horrified that she might have to wear glasses. OH has tried smoothing it over with her ,that its OK she'll just look like Harry Potter!! And yes, you've guessed it, it's just not working! Tsk!
Spoke to rellies in Perth yesterday morning - they are lovely! They want to do so much for us, yet my own parents seem to want to do so little! Why is that!??
Hopefully we'll get some good news this week. Even if #2 has to wear glasses she'll be as cute as ever (and sexy I've whispered to her - even though she doesnt know what that means - she still smiled).
