Kittens

Posted on Mon 6 October 2008 at 09:50

For the last couple of days we have been hearing a kitten under the hay in the bottom barn.

Today when we went down his mewing seemed fainter. On investigation he was discovered on the barn floor all cold and floppy. I took him up to the house and spent an hour or so with him cuddled up on me and after that put him in a box on a towel and with a towel on top of him in a box near the wood stove to get him warm.

As usual the dog helped out and looked after him too. The kitten thinks Chinook is his new mum.

I think the kitten is around 5 weeks or so. It can eat  cat food and lap cat formula.

By tea time he was quite perky and is all over the place.

When he is stronger and a bit older I want him to live out in the barn, but he is begining to get his feet under the table.  We will have to see what happens.

Love the photos!

Especially the expression of your dog in the top pix...he looks simply gorgeous. Love the kitten too, hope he gets to stay with you as a pet.

reading your blog

Wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your blog. We're due to land in NB/Riverside-Albert by the end of this year. My husband has accepted a position with the Albert County Health and Wellness Center (quite a mouthful that is) as their newest GP so reading your stories about the Moncton area has been great!
We're coming for a visit to the area the first week of Nov. Is there anything you desperately need from the UK? From your descriptions I gather you're on the 114/Hillsborough Road/Lower Cloverdale Street/all of the above and we'll be driving past there many times I'm sure looking for a temporary place to live (until we can find the perfect house to buy) when we finally arrive permanently.
(hope the Canadian colds/feeling poorly are in the distant past, and you have the most gorgeous animals )
best regards,
Dejah

Hello Dejah

I am glad you are enjoying my blog.
Riversde Albert is an unusual choice of destination for new immigrants.
Doctors are in short supply here as you will already know, so they will be glad to have you.
Its very beautiful down that way.

Have you got a realtor? We know a good guy if you want his number.
We are at Bramble Hill Farm on Route 114.
Feel free to drop in while you are visiting.
I think we are good for most english supplies at the moment. My brother in law is visiting at the moment and has brought gravy granules, bread sauce and the usual assortment of non prescription drugs.
Thanks for the offer though.

Have you visited here already or will this be your first trip.
Feel free to pm me if you want any info about thearea or anything.

So sweet!

Aww, those photos are lovely. I took in a stray kitten, eight years ago. She made it very clear she was going to stay, so I gave in and kept her. Your dog is gorgeous.
